Juliana turned one on April 1st and we had a small family party on that day. She is a pro at unwrapping presents and she had a blast!
Her big 1st Birthday Luau was on April 9th. It was quite the party and we were blessed to be surrounded by many friends and a whole lot of family. Kamaki's Dad, Tutu Man, was very ill on the day of the party so he and Tutu Mom weren't able to make it. They were greatly missed by everyone, but we know they were there in spirit.
There was a lot of delicious food and great company. We weren't able to have live music because Tutu Man wasn't there, but Daddy came to the rescue with a great play list of Hawaiian music and set up the sound system to run off that instead. The kids ran around playing with hula hoops, a bean bag toss, coconut bowling and using the big blow up Tiki as a punching bag - I think it's safe to say they had a good time. And of course, there was the cake! I can't believe how much cake our little girl was able to demolish!
We have been so very blessed to have Juliana in our lives this past year. Every one of us in our little family has changed for the better for having her sweet spirit near us. I have loved watching her grow and learn - seeing more of her personality every day. Thank you to everyone who celebrated her first birthday with us - whether you were at her party or not, we felt your presence.

she is so beautiful! It looks like so much fun and I wish we all could have been there! someone needs to hurry up and invent a teleporter or something! ya know, the free kind.
