Every year, several construction companies put on a children's charity fundraiser at a local rock quarry. It's called Dozer Days and this year was our first visit. There are more tractors, semi trucks, and pieces of construction equipment than you can imagine and the kids are free to climb and crawl all over them.
Each child is given a plastic hard hat and they get to collect stickers to put on the hat at each activity station.
There were big dirt pits where the kids could dig for treasure, equipment available for them to operate (supervised of course), there was a conveyor truck shooting candy out of it's conveyor belt
and the boys' favorite - a garbage truck. The boys love to sit at the front window and watch the garbage truck in front of our house every week. Here, they were able to pull the lever to lift the can, dump it, and put the can back down. They were ecstatic!
On the way out, we hitched a ride in the back of a gigantic dump truck that took us all the way out to the parking lot.
We all had a great time and we can't wait to go back next year - the boys ask about it every day!

That is a fantastic way to raise money! Every community should do it. I know Drew would love it. Your boys look so cute with their hard hats!
That is such a good idea that somebody had! What kid wouldn't love to do all that. I know my kids would be jealous.
